Inspector General of Police, Gen. Kale Kayihura has warned his boys against sharing police secrets with other security agencies.
The warning comes at a time when there’s believed to be a rift between the Internal security organization, ISO and the Uganda police force.
In a circular dated February 21st 2018, the IGP instructs all Directors, unit commanders, heads of departments, to ensure that officers do not conspire to sell secrets of the force.
“It has been established that police officers conspire on their own or are summoned by sister security agencies and divulge information without official authority” part of the circular reads.
Gen. Kayihura argues that such conduct undermines the authority of police administration and contravenes the police disciplinary code of conduct and official oath of secrecy.
“This is to warn all personnel involving themselves in such misconduct to stop forthwith. Disciplinary action shall be taken against all those involved in such acts” the IGP warned
