Millions of Muslims in Uganda who were getting ready to begin the Ramadhan Month tomorrow, will have to wait one more day after the Director of Sharia, Sheikh Yahaya Kakungulu issued a statement this evening, explaining that fasting starts on Thursday.
"I would like to inform all Muslims in Uganda that the moon has not been sighted. Fasting for this year's holy month of Ramadhan will therefore start on Thursday 17th May 2018" he wrote.
He further announced that TARAWEEH prayers at the National Mosque will begin at 8:30PM every evening throughout the holy month.
Sheikh Kakungulu wished Muslims a happy and successful fasting during the holy month of Ramadhan.
